She was born Christina Haack in Anaheim, California on July 9 1983. Her first job out of school was in the real estate industry. It was through this that she met her future spouse Tarek El Moussa. After the 2008 crash of the stock exchange numerous real estate investors and those who were homeowners lost their funds. Tarek El Moussa, and Christina El Moussisa, both lost almost everything as a consequence of the 2008 market collapse. They went from living in a home that cost $6,000 per month, to an apartment that cost $700 per month. The economy as well as their business slowly improved. HGTV as well as Rise to Fame Tarek enlisted one of his friends to aid in making an HGTV video audition in the year 2011. The footage was a video of Tarek turning a whole house with Christina.
